Grilled Tuna with spicy mango and basil salsa
This is honestly so simple to make, and so delicious.
It's basically a two part dish where your main work is in the cutting prep, then it just puts itself together.

You could swap the mango for pineapple or the basil for coriander, but essentially you want to keep the salsa fresh and tangy because the tuna will be grilled simply and let the sauce sing.
Prep time: 10 mins
Cooking time: 7 mins
Serves: 2
Ingredients
2 x 130g tuna steaks
1/2 fresh mango, finely cubed
1/4 red onion, finely chopped
1 tbsp fresh basil, finely chopped
3 limes, juiced
1/4 tsp salt
1 pinch of pepper
1 tbsp olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste
Olive oil spray
Method
Prep all the ingredients, and in a bowl mix everything together except for the tuna and olive oil spray. That's your salsa done. Let it sit and marinate for at lease 15 minutes.
Take your tuna steaks and pat them dry with a paper towel. Keeping them dry will ensure a nice sear.
Season with salt, then on a hot fry pan sprayed with olive oil, lay your steaks on, cooking only for 2-3 minutes on each side, depending on how thick your steaks are and how pink you like the middle to be.
Once cooked on both sides, place on a plate and spoon two generous tablespoons of the salsa on top.
Serve with your favorite sides and enjoy.
Notes
This salsa would also go nicely on grilled prawns and other steaky fish.
Turn up the heat and add birds eye chili in the mix if you like it really spicy.
