What to do when you have no ingredients at home except the bare basics and are super hungry?
Fried rice.
I literally only had the bare minimum in my pantry and fridge and did what I could with it.

It's surprisingly flavorful, and if you're a fan of garlic, you'll probably end up making this a lot!
Prep time: 10 mins
Cooking time: 10 mins
Serves: 1
Ingredients
250g day old white rice
6 cloves of garlic, chopped
1 spring onion, finely chopped, whites and greens separated
1 egg
2 slices of ham, diced
1/2 tsp white pepper
1/2 tsp salt
1 tbs soy sauce
1 tbs cooking oil
Method
In a wok, pour in the cooking oil, and once hot, add the chopped garlic. Keep the heat on high and stir regularly until the garlic turns golden.
Remove the garlic, but keep the oil, adding the white parts of the spring onion.
Once fragrant, crack the egg and break it up to roughly scramble before adding the ham.
Once combined, add in the rice, white pepper and salt.
After its evenly mixed, add in the green parts of the spring onion and soy sauce, combining until all are evenly coated.
Serve hot, and top with chili oil.
Notes
You can literally add any protein, or keep it with egg only.
Dont leave any of the garlic in the oil once you remove it - if left in to burn it'll turn the whole dish very bitter
Chili oil is optional
